Back by popular demand at Diode Gallery on Thursday, March 5th from 6-9pm

Dungeon Hacker is a group illustration show at Diode Gallery, and an augmented reality dungeon crawler all rolled up into one. The show features original illustrations by Dan Cohen, Ryan Johnson, Andy Lunday and Gabe Shaughnessy and will be on display at Diode Gallery during the months of February and March, 2015.
By scanning the illustrations in the show with Layar, visitors can play an interactive game. You will choose a player, pick up enchanted items and face terrible monsters as you hack and slash your way through the gallery in augmented reality.

About the Artists:

  • Dan CohenDan Cohen

Dan Cohen is an Artist of the New-Renaissance. He is a classically trained painter, sculptor, muralist, writer, and philosopher. His influences include world mythologies, occult sciences, and alternative states of consciousness. His signature elements–beautifully rendered forms, archetypal symbolism, occult circuitry, meticulously crafted panels and constructs–bridge the past and the future, magic and technology. He currently lives and works in the Pacific Northwest, Los Angeles, and New York City. Visit Dan’s website.

  • Ryan JohnsonRyan Johnson

Master of the digital stylus, Ryan Johnson specializes in immortalizing the world around him as it happens. He offers the gift of inspiration as he peers through the great visionary lens, and allows the future to pour through his hands. His art peeks into a forgotten past, blended with a future that might be. Never failing to capture the true essence of the moment in epic figures and dramatic tribal imagery. His humble demeanor and willingness to actively contribute have quickly made his work a symbol of the people he loves. Visit Ryan’s website.

  • Andy LundayAndy Lunday

Andy Lunday is a Portland, OR based artist, illustrator, and designer from Helena, MT. He sees an elaborate visual connection between old hand lettered signage, gardening, office supplies, and coffee that he hasn’t quite cracked. He gets his inspiration from bike rides and long walks during which he likes to see what’s blooming and judge the landscaping of your home. Strangers are always asking him for directions which he gladly gives whether he knows the way or not. Visit Andy’s website.

  • Gabe ShaughnessyGabe Shaughnessy

You can usually find Gabe geeking out on some art installation, interface or web application, using a toolset that ranges from paint to pixels. His passion is story-telling, and making those stories interactive, so he leverages his experience as a web developer and background in visual art to craft one-of-a-kind experiences on the web, out in the world, and in augmented reality.
